Yanyi Chen | 陈彦伊, Preschool Auxiliary Program Coordinator
Yanyi joined PKS in 2022 as a Preschool Auxiliary Program Coordinator. Previously, she accrued six years of experience as a Preschool Lead Teacher, complemented by two years in a Staff Coordinator role. Passionate about child development, she is dedicated to supporting individualized learning experiences for each child. Yanyi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language from Harbin Normal University. After teaching Chinese as a foreign language for two years in Beijing, she pursued further studies in the United States, earning an MBA from Lincoln University in 2015.
Residing in Hayward with her husband and son, Yanyi enjoys weekend explorations of the Bay Area’s natural landscapes and culinary offerings.
Olivia Sorrells K-8 Auxiliary Program Coordinator
Olivia enjoys spending time with PKS students once their school day is over, and supporting parents in all things auxiliary and camp related. She brings to her role as the K-8 Auxiliary Coordinator a professional background that includes a B.A. in Psychology, time spent teaching in Thailand, work as a Behavioral Therapist with children diagnosed with ASD, and supervising after school programs in her hometown of Redding, CA.
When off campus, Olivia gets creative by practicing pottery, painting and dance, and staying connected with friends, family and her pets.
Samantha Wilcox, Director of Auxiliary Programs
Samantha comes from a long background of summer camp, enrichment classes and out-of-school programming for preschool through high school students. She graduated with a BA in Journalism and Communications from UW-Madison. After graduation, she worked at EDMO, a non-profit STEAM summer camp in the Bay Area as their San Francisco Region Manager. She moved on to be their Online Programs Manager, navigating the world of online summer camp during the COVID pandemic. During her time at EDMO, she oversaw 14 summer camp locations across the Bay Area.
While not at school, Samantha loves hiking, traveling to new places, and finding the best burrito in the Bay Area. She and her husband live in San Leandro and are always looking for new fun spots to explore.
