After School & Auxiliary Programs

We provide opportunities for students to connect with friends, discover new interests, and relax before and after school in the familiar and enriching school environment they already know. 

 

Extended Care

Extended Care Hours: Monday - Friday from 7:30 a.m. until the start of the school day, and from school dismissal until 6:00 p.m., throughout the school year.

    Preschool Extended Care consists of outdoor play, free choice in various activity centers and a late afternoon snack. Optional enrichment classes are also available, see below for details.

    Elementary Extended Care consists of snack, free play, outdoor play and a choice of one "Power Hour" activity each afternoon, such as: Music Studio, P.E Zone, Art Studio, Homework Area, and Games Center. Optional enrichment classes are also available, see below for details.

    Extended Care Fees: 

    • Early care (from 7:30 a.m.) is free
    • $20 per day of attendance in after school extended care
    • $13 per day following a scheduled enrichment class. or if the student is picked up within 1 hour of dismissal
    • Enrichment class fees vary depending on the class

    Enrichment

    Enrichment Classes are held throughout the school year and can be attended during the hours of extended care for both preschool and elementary students. Enrichment Class costs vary depending on the class; the average cost for a 10-week session is currently around $250. There are a variety of Mandarin and English class options each season. Note, there are no enrichment classes on Fridays, only extended care.

    Athletics

    PKS has a robust extracurricular athletics program, offering a wide variety of sports team options throughout the year including soccer, t-ball, volleyball, and baseball. Coach Jim and Coach Bret, the PKS physical education teachers, lead most teams along with some parent volunteers. Registration fees vary per sport.

    Summer Camp

    PKS provides engaging, educational Mandarin Immersion summer camps each year. Summer camps typically run from the end of June to early August. Our Preschool Summer Camp is open to preschool and incoming preschool students, our Elementary Summer Camp is open to current, alumni and external families. 

    Occasionally, PKS also hosts outside provider summer camps such as Adventure Camp, Renegade Tinkering and Tech Explosion.

    Other Camps

    Additionally, PKS offers camps for preschool and elementary students during Mid-Winter Break in February and Spring Break in April (subject to enrollment). There are no camps offered during Winter Break.
