Elementary School Admissions (K through Grade 4)

Mandarin language requirements

  • Kindergarten: None

  • Grades 1-4: Appropriate grade-level proficiency

Reach out to us if you are unsure if your child’s Mandarin skills will be sufficient. We can help determine an applicant’s readiness on a case by case basis.

Age requirements:

  • Kindergarten: 5 years by August 1, 2024

  • Grades 1-4: Completion of the prior grade

  • If you are applying from outside the US and are unsure about the grade level equivalency, please contact us.

Process and Timeline

Step 1: Let us know you’re interested via our inquiry form

  • After you complete an inquiry form, you will receive an email with dates, times, and registration links for our admissions events.

Step 2: Get to know us

  • Required: Attend an information session and tour, offered at various dates and times from October through December (details provided once you submit the inquiry form). You will have the option to attend these events entirely in person, or to select a hybrid option, as best fits your needs.

  • Optional: Attend other events that are of interest to you (details provided once you submit the inquiry form).

Step 3: Complete the online application (required); apply for tuition assistance (optional)

  • Admissions applications for the 2024-2025 school year are due by January 10, 2024. If the $100 application fee is a hardship for your family, please let us know (waivers available).

  • Tuition assistance applications for the 2024-2025 school year are due by January 31, 2024. If the $53 application fee is a hardship for your family, please let us know (waivers available).

    Admissions decisions and tuition assistance determinations are made separately.

Step 4: Let us get to know you

  • Parent / guardian interview (details provided to applicants)

    • Kindergarten applicants:

      • Provide the PreK–Kindergarten Teacher Evaluation Form to your child’s current/most recent teacher, requesting it be returned directly to us by January 26, 2024.  These can be emailed directly by your child’s school, to pks.admissions@presidioknolls.org

      • Attend a student-only applicant visit on a weekday morning - February 26, 2024 or March 1, 2024 (details provided to applicants).

    • Grade 1-2 applicants:

      • Provide the 1st Grade–8th Grade Teacher Evaluation Form to your child’s current/most recent teacher, requesting it be returned directly to us by January 26, 2024. These can be emailed directly by your child’s school, to pks.admissions@presidioknolls.org

      • Attend a student-only assessment and shadow visit on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 (details provided to applicants).

    • Grade 3-4 applicants:

      • Provide the 1st Grade–8th Grade Teacher Evaluation Form to your child’s current/most recent teacher, requesting it be returned directly to us by January 26, 2024. These can be emailed directly by your child’s school, to pks.admissions@presidioknolls.org

      • Provide the Student Records Release Form to your child’s current/recent school(s), requesting they be emailed directly to us by January 26, 2024.

      • Attend a student-only assessment and shadow visit on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 (details provided to applicants).

Elementary school admissions decisions and tuition assistance awards will be emailed on Thursday, March 14, 2024.
Family decisions are due by Thursday, March 21, 2024.
