Admissions Overview

Our school strives to cultivate an exceptionally diverse family community. Our admissions practices reflect this mission to meet the needs of individual children and families, and to allow children to learn from a rich social community.

Each class has its own unique balance of students, and in order to find the best fits for openings in these classes, we look for the specific attributes of a child that would mesh the most naturally with the rest of the class, rather than solely a child’s rank on a waiting list. Because of this practice, it is very difficult to predict an applicant’s chances for admission. However, we will do everything that we can to guide you through the process and answer any questions you may have along the way.

ELIGIBILITY:

  • No Mandarin language skills are required for incoming Pre-K students.
  • If your child comes from another Mandarin immersion program, you can apply for a spot in appropriate grade level, from pre-K to 2nd grade for 2012-2013 school year.
  • If your child has no knowledge of Mandarin, we strongly encourage applying at the Pre-K level to develop basic Mandarin skills, but we are accepting kindergarten applications for non-Mandarin speakers.
