San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom honors Presidio Knolls School, including its founder Wendy Xa along with a few PKS students, at his 2010 State of the City speech. The event took place at the Asian Art Museum located at 200 Larkin Street in San Francisco, CA.

Wendy Xa had no place to take her daughter to school so she partnered with other parents to open the first Mandarin immersion preschool in San Francisco.

Although the event takes place in the evening, there are a few Presidio Knolls’ preschoolers in attendance, namely Emma, Noe and Eli. It’s past their bedtime so the kids are a bit tired, but they were excited to meet Mayor Newsom in person.
